A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
The number of plastic surgeons has increased and the number of people who opt for plastic surgery has also gone up. This has prompted the American Board of Plastic Surgeons to create a community that can give ethical and safe services to their clients with proper certification.
The Board of Certified Plastic Surgeons have placed certain strict measures for the protection of their profession. As per the board, no plastic surgeon who is not certified by the board should not be treated as a surgeon. The surgeons should have had a proper extensive education and training under a recognized institution for the required duration. The surgeon should have a graduated from a well known medical school. He/she should have been in the country for above 5 yrs for nationality.
The surgeon should have completed all the extensive tests and should have also practiced for 2 years. He should be capable enough to give proper treatment to his clients.
The board refers to a membership with the health services providing health department. The Board was established to have a responsible performance of their profession keeping the ethics in mind. Its objective is to give certification to those who conduct the work of plastic surgery. However this is done by accessing the applicants by their assessment and checking their credentials.
An elaborate assessment of the applicants by conducting written tests and the practice is monitored and then the surgeon is certified.
Plastic surgeons specialize in various fields like that of the chest, genitalia, breast surgery, reconstructive surgery, supervisions of burns, neoplasms of the head and neck, cosmetic surgery of the trunk, head, neck. Cosmetic surgeons also specialize in congenital faults of the head and the neck which includes clefts of the lip and plate and craniofacial surgery.
The surgeon after clearing his first stage of applying for certification is nominated as an envoy. The surgeon should be well versed with the above given treatments. he should have had a basic practice duration of at least three years,
It is essential that while selecting a surgeon he is a certified one. the surgeons from the board of American Plastic Surgeons. He should be more knowledgeable and experienced than the others. His credentials have been checked by many senior doctors on the board. His selection on the board has been done because of his surgical awareness and talents. This makes him more trustworthy among the patients.
