Abdominal Plastic Surgery
Abdominal plastic surgery is done to reduce the fat around the abdomen. In this surgery the plastic surgeon removes excess fat and tissues of muscles around the abdomen and tapper the skin. The patient aims to stiffen the skin and remove the excess fat. For this an abdominal plastic surgeon reduces the excess weight with a surgery.
Weight reduction around the abdomen can be done without a surgery. People work out, exercise and control their diet. But at times there is a lot of hard fat that cannot be loosed. For this a plastic surgeon carries out a surgery. During this surgery he removes this hard fat. Before going for a surgery, a patient has to take care of a number of things. The surgeon will suggest a diet and an exercise routine to the patient.
It is important that the patient follows this diet and does the exercise. This routine needs to followed two months before the surgery.
There are types of plastic surgeries. Liposuction, tummy tuck and abdominoplasty are a few important forms of surgery in abdominal plastic surgery. A mini tuck is also performed on the abdomen called as the mini tuck. Here only a specific portion of the stomach is subject to surgery. Here a small cut is made above the pubic bone. In this surgery fat is removed from bellow the belly. But this is done by making the skin and the muscles hard.
In traditional methods of abdominal plastic surgery big cuts are made on the skin, which take long to heal and leave marks. Though the method is successful at times it van get risky for the patient.
Before actual surgery, the surgeon marks the area where actually fat is to be removed. An IV line is put into the vein to maintain the body’s level of liquids. Anesthesia is very essential for this surgery as the portion of the body will be cut open. Tiny cut is made in the skin below the navel or bikini line and the emaciated tube called cannula is inserted into the fatty portion.
This tube breaks the hard fat which is removed by a vacuum suction process. This special vacuum procedure keeps the blood, tissues, nerves and skin intact and removes only the fat. Once the fat is removed area of the body gets into shape.
The abdominal plastic surgery procedure takes around 1 to 2 hour. It also depends on how much fat is to be removed and also what part of the abdomen.
There are a number of dangers involved in this process. The body or that portion can become numb. There will be scarring because of the cut made. The skin can dimple. Once the fat is removed, the skin in that portion will remain flabby.
This will need another procedure to tighten the skin. The skin in that portion may also discolor or become rough.
